Swipe Right for the French 75

As we enter 2021, I think we can all say that COVID-19 has lasted a bit longer than expected. With this in mind, I decided to host a virtual celebration for the launch of my two new books (A Swipe in the Wrong Direction and Cataracts) instead of an in-person event. Thanks to Dallas On Air and my co-host, Robi Nickoli, the book launch event went well with no hiccups. After the event, Robi and I decided to stop by Eight Bells Alehouse in downtown Dallas for a celebratory drink.

She ordered a French 75, a drink I had never tasted. After just a couple of sips, I thought it had a great flavor. Not too sweet. Not too strong but it had a nice kick. Then, she told me it included gin. I was shocked because I typically am not a fan of gin drinks. However, this one pleasantly surprised me. What’s in it? Gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar. Apparently, it’s a classic drink but I’m late to the party. If you find yourself in the Dallas area, stop by Eight Bells Alehouse to try this smooth drink.
