About 15 years ago, I took a really deep interest in writing poetry. I initially started writing poetry for fun or to release stress. The next thing I knew, I had 50 poems, then 200, then 300 plus. I finally decided to share some of the poems I kept tucked away. My goal was to inspire people who may have had similar thoughts as I did. Rather than wait on a traditional publishing company to find worth or a clever marketing plan for my book, I decided to self-publish my first book of poems, Blurred Vision, in 2011. Don’t get me wrong; the process was by no means easy! However, I loved the creative control so much that I started 7th Sign Publishing in 2013.
The mission of 7th Sign is to help writers attain their dreams of having their books published. Many authors today have great stories to tell, but have no idea where to begin. There are other authors who have who may have their story written, but just need editing services and a great cover. 7th Sign Publishing is unique in the fact that the services that the author pays for are only up until the printed stage of the book. The services include graphic design, professional head shots, editing, consulting, limited digital marketing and print copies of the final draft. So what does this mean for authors? All post print books sales go strictly to the author. There are absolutely no royalty percentages collected. Also, the author retains all copyright privileges and creative ownership of their work.
7th Sign Publishing continues to grow after just four years in existence. The complete book roster includes Naked and How To Win The Dating Game by John Patrick Adams, Introducing Shirley by Shirley Thomas, Hindsight 20/20, Honesty Box, Fortune Cookie, Stingrays and No Cream In The Middle by Carlos Harleaux, and The Champ’s Great Fight by Charolette Washington.
